Kate Hickl brings her infectious energy and passion for fitness from deep in the heart of Texas. Born and raised just outside Houston, Kate spent her early years running up and down basketball courts, around soccer fields, softball fields and tracks. In 2001, Kate left the big blue skies of Texas for the big city lights, moving to NYC where she began her career in advertising. In her spare time, she found the easiest form of fitness in NY to be running, completing numerous half-marathons and the 2004 New York Marathon. But it wasn’t until she stumbled upon yoga, that something shifted and Kate’s passion and energy quickly turned to teaching. While a yoga instructor, Kate was always in search of the best possible sweat...which led her to indoor cycling. Hooked from the first pedal stroke, once again the wheels in Kate’s head started turning. Five short months later, having studied under Ruth Zukerman and becoming a certified indoor cycling instructor, Kate began teaching full-time. With her background in both yoga and indoor cycling, Kate’s classes are a unique combination of high energy, exertion and mind/body awareness. When she’s not teaching indoor cycling or yoga, she loves to travel, run, snowboard, knit, eat good food, hear great music and enjoy life one day (or one pedal stroke) at a time.
